It is used when an analog program needs nonlinear arithmetic beyond integration and fixed scalar weighting. One MDR block occupies one M-Block slot in a cluster and presents the normal M-Block interface of eight logical inputs and eight logical outputs, but internally it contains four configurable MDR elements.

MDR stands for multiply, divide, root.
